Well it may or may not work.depends if the program relies on certain files to be installed in certain folders and registry settings. So install the software on your computer. The program folder shouldn't be over 700mb, drag it onto a +1gb flash drive and see if it will run on another comp. You could find out when you start if it says missing blah blah from c: windows etc etc folders or missing some files.
CD depends if the program will make changes to its program files during use. You know files can't be deleted and modified on a CD. But it should be okay off a flash drive. I know for a fact that you can run photoshop 7 off a USB key, but yes, you will need to export a few registry settings in order to work at 100%. For this method you will need: - a copy of photoshop 7; and - a copy of a file names PORTABLEPS7.EXE (This file allows the portability of this program - you should be able to find it via a google search). Install Photoshop 7 to your computer and register with your serial key and information when asked. Open your registry editor and: a. Navigate to HKEYLOCALMACHINE SOFTWARE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP b. Right-click the key and choose 'export' to save it to a file.
Name the file RegInfo.reg. Copy this file to the Settings directory in the program folder. Copy all files from the Photoshop install folder to the Photoshop folder in the launcher directory onto your USB, minus any file named 'uninstall'. Copy the PORTABLEPS7.EXE to the directory that contains the directory that you just copied to your USB 4.
Uninstall the program from your machine (if needed). That's it, run the program by clicking on the PORTABLEPS7.EXE file. You may see a few setup messages on first run. Answer them or click ok, you won't see them after that.
