Hp Recovery Flash Disk Utility For Windows Xp
I have a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 – D1G59UA - Windows 8 64bit – I am trying to create the recovery USB Flash Drive – (NEW) Sandisk Cruser Glide 64GB, I can format the USB when I just right click it, however when I go into the Recovery Disk Creation utility it also wants to format it, the problems is it gets stuck on formatting and never continues. I have talked to Tech Support both by phone and Chat, all they say is go to this link. Which is instructions on how to do it.
I am not am idiot I tried that before I contacted them. I have also tried all three USB ports, different flash drives, different size flash drives.

I have tried a Transcend JetFlash 32GB on my HP Mini 210-1020ea and it actually created the recovery but I wasn't able to boot up from the drive.

I suggest to use some third party utility to format the flash drive first and then put a boot flag on it. Then copy the content of the recovery partition on it and it should work.
I formatted it by Gparted, set the boot flag and copied extracted Windows iso on it and it worked.
